Old-fashioned Roses Wedding Cake. Handmade sugarpaste roses on a cake that is fondant-covered then roughly iced with a crusting buttercream.  Basic crusting buttercream recipe is   1kg icing sugar 1/4 cup liquid glucose (corn syrup) 100g unsalted butter (not margarine - butter tastes better) 1tsp pure vanilla extract 100ml cold water Mix first 3 ingredients together in an electric mixer then add water and vanilla and beat well for 5 mins.
